Last weekend, I documented the annual Fastelavn celebration at the Danish Athletic Club in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Nona Brooklyn just posted a fascinating story featuring the resulting images. It provides a real glimpse into the little known Scandinavian history of the neighborhood, as well as a look behind the doors of a fading, 120 year old institution.
